This is a research paper written by Memoona Islam for her M.Phil from Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad under guidance of Professor Dr. Abdul Hameed Khan Abbassi. This research is done to elaborate the methodology of Imam al-Bayhaqi while writing his famous book of hadith Sunan al-Kubra al-Bayhaqi.

The research combines extensive studies about the life and times of Imam al-Bayhaqi and the necessity of writing the book together with the main points which makes his book authentic.
