This work is the first English translation of Imam al-Ghazali’s seminal Arabic text, Kitab Jawahir al-Qur’an. Translator Muhammad Abul Quasem presents al-Ghazali’s unique theoretical approach to Qur’anic studies. The core concept is classifying Qur’anic verses as “Jewels” (cognitive, concerning knowledge of God’s essence and works) and “Pearls” (practical, concerning the straight path and righteous conduct). The translation includes over 1,500 of these selected verses, offered in lucid, modern English.
