Dr. Israr Ahmad was a Pakistani Islamic theologian, philosopher, and Islamic scholar, He was the founder of Tanzeem-e-Islami.
He was born on 26 April 1932 in Hisar, Punjab. Graduated from King Edward Medical University in 1954.
He joined the Jamat e-Islami in 1954 but left in 1957 after the decision of Jamat e-Islami in taking part in elections. He founded Anjuman-e-Khuddamul Quran, Tanzeem-e-Islami and Tehrik-e-Khilafat.
Dr. Israr Ahmed has written a number of books many of which have been published, additionally many of his delivered lectures have been written down as short books.
Dr Israr Ahmed spent almost four decades in trying to reawaken interest in Quran-based Islamic philosophy.
He died on 14th April 2010
