Shah Rafiuddin Dehlvi
Shah Rafiuddin Dehlvi (1749–1818) شاہ رفیع الدین دہلوی was a prominent Islamic scholar, Muhaddith (Hadith specialist), and Quranic commentator from the Indian subcontinent. He was the second son of Shah Waliullah Dehlvi and the younger brother of Shah Abdul Aziz Dehlvi, inheriting and continuing the intellectual and reformist legacy of the Shah Waliullah movement.

Pioneer of Urdu Translation of the Quran: His most significant and enduring contribution was producing the first complete, word-for-word translation of the Quran into Urdu. Known as Tarjumah-e-Rafiuddin or Tarjumah-e-Muzih-ul-Quran, this work was crucial in making the Holy Book accessible to the common Urdu-speaking Muslim populace.
Theological and Scholarly Works: He was a distinguished figure among the scholars of Delhi, noted for his deep understanding of both rational and transmitted Islamic sciences. His notable scholarly works include Risalah Ithbat an-Nubuwwah (Treatise on Proving Prophethood) and Damgh al-Batil.
Impact: His efforts played a pivotal role in the dissemination of religious knowledge during his era, helping to revive adherence to the Sunnah and purify the understanding of Islamic texts in the region.
