Hadith
Hadith refers to the recorded sayings, actions, and tacit approvals of the Prophet Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم ) and serves as the second fundamental source of legislation for Muslims after the Qur’an. They provide the necessary practical details and context for understanding and implementing the principles of Islam, detailing everything from prayer rituals to legal judgments. Every Hadith is composed of two parts: the Isnad (the chain of narrators) and the Matn (the actual text), which scholars meticulously examined to determine the authenticity and reliability of the report. This rigorous verification process led to the compilation of renowned, authoritative collections like Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, which remain indispensable resources for Islamic jurisprudence and theology.
