Abd al-Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz

Abd al-Aziz ibn Abdullah ibn Baz (عبد العزيز بن عبد الله بن باز), was a Saudi Arabian Islamic scholar. He was the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia from 1993 until his death in 1999.

His exceptional memory enabled him to learn the Koran by heart before he came of age of 16 despite of an eye infection which made him completely blind. His education was traditional religious.

His deep knowledge of Islam led him to be the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, where he developed a number of channels for Fatwas related to problems faced by Muslims as a nation.
