Shaykh Abd al-Fattah Abu Ghuddah (1917–1997) عبد الفتاح بن محمد بن بشير بن حسن أبوغدة الخالدي was a towering figure in 20th-century Islamic scholarship, world-renowned for his expertise in the sciences of Hadith, Arabic literature, and Islamic pedagogy. A leading scholar from Aleppo, Syria, he dedicated his life to reviving the classical tradition of meticulous scholarship, focusing deeply on the “Isnad” (chain of narration) and the refined manners (Adab) of seeking knowledge. His works, such as Al-Ulama al-Uzzab and Safahat min Sabr al-Ulama, are celebrated for their profound insights into the intellectual endurance of past scholars.
