Imam Abd al-Wahhab al-Sharani عبد الوهاب ابن أحمد الشعرانى (1493–1565 CE), fully known as Abū Muḥammad ‘Abd al-Wahhāb ibn Aḥmad al-Ḥanafi al-Sha’rānī, was an Egyptian Sufi master, highly influential jurist (Faqīh), and prolific scholar of the Ottoman era. Educated in Cairo, he adhered to the Shāfi’ī and later the Ḥanafī schools of Islamic law and was deeply rooted in Ash’arī theology.
