Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall was a British convert Muslim who is best remembered as one of the earliest  translators of the Holy Quran in English in 1930, widely considered as the best know English translation.

Marmaduke William Pickthall was born in Cambridge Terrace in 1875. He was a novelist, a journalist, headmaster, and political and religious leader.
