Mawlana Muhammad Manzoor Nomani (1905–1997) was an eminent Indian Islamic scholar, Hadith expert, and prolific author, deeply influential in the intellectual landscape of the Indian subcontinent. A graduate of Darul Uloom Deoband, he dedicated his life to the propagation of Islamic knowledge, with a particular focus on Hadith studies and the defense of orthodox Sunni beliefs. His magnum opus, “Ma’arif al-Hadith,” a multi-volume commentary on Hadith in Urdu, remains a seminal work for understanding the Prophet’s traditions. Nomani also founded and edited the influential monthly journal “Al-Furqan,” through which he addressed contemporary religious and intellectual challenges. He is recognized for his profound scholarship, lucid writing style, and unwavering commitment to the principles of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah and the Hanafi school of thought.
