Justice Pir Muhammad Karam Shah al-Azhari (1918–1998) was a visionary Islamic scholar, jurist, and spiritual leader who played a pivotal role in the intellectual and spiritual revival of Muslims in the 20th century. Renowned for his moderate and research-oriented approach, he bridged the gap between traditional Islamic sciences and modern academic requirements. His magnum opus, the Quranic exegesis Zia-ul-Quran, and his comprehensive biography of the Prophet ﷺ, Zia-un-Nabi, are celebrated for their literary elegance and profound scholarly depth. As a graduate of Al-Azhar University and a former Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (Shariat Appellate Bench), Pir Karam Shah al-Azhari successfully integrated legal jurisprudence with spiritual wisdom, making his works a cornerstone for students of Sufism, Tafsir, and Islamic Law worldwide.
