Noor ul-Irfan ala Kanz ul-Emaan نور العرفان علیٰ کنز الایمان
This scholarly work is a concise yet insightful commentary (Tafsir) on the Holy Qur’an, written in Urdu by the renowned scholar Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan Na’imi (often associated with the Barelvi school of thought).
It is specifically a detailed annotation on ‘Kanz ul-Emaan,’ the famous Urdu translation of the Qur’an by Imam Ahmad Raza Khan.
The Tafsir is praised for its simplicity and clarity, making it accessible to beginners while still being beneficial for scholars.
The commentary (or Hashiya) is generally presented in the margins of the Qur’anic text and translation for easy cross-reference.
Noor ul-Irfan illuminates the deeper meanings and provides historical context and interpretations to clarify the sacred text.
It is highly respected within the Ahl as-Sunnah wa’l Jama’ah for its respectful tone and adherence to established Sunni theological positions.
The work is often printed alongside Kanz ul-Emaan to provide a comprehensive reading and understanding package.
The English translation of this Tafsir was undertaken by Mohamed Hoosain Mukaddam, based on the original Urdu work by Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan Na’imi.
